A cultural asset within a rebuilding city
CPB Contractors worked with Ōtākaro Limited to design and construct the Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre in New Zealand.
We committed to delivering this project as part of the rebuilding of Christchurch. The project delivered a vibrant and world-class piece of infrastructure, supporting sustained economic and cultural benefits for the Christchurch community.
We provided opportunities for local businesses, a socially-inclusive procurement strategy to broaden community benefits, and enhanced local workforce capabilities to the benefit of the industry.
The Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre can host up to 2,000 delegates for a variety of national and international events.
Scope of works included:
- Delivery of a 1,400 delegate auditorium, 3,300m2 exhibition hall and 24 meeting rooms; and
- Building associated food, beverage and retail amenities.
CPB Contractors acknowledge the Ngāi Tahu people of the Maori Iwi as the traditional and continuing custodians of the lands on which the Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre will be delivered.
